The Racing Beat Power Pulse dual exit back box for the Mazda MX-5 NA is designed to enhance exhaust flow and deliver a balanced, sporty exhaust note while retaining the factory catalytic converter. Developed originally at the request of Mazda USA, this dual outlet system was later adopted into the Racing Beat product range.

Manufactured entirely from 304 stainless steel, the muffler features a durable polished canister with a cast stainless steel inlet flange for secure gas sealing. Exhaust gases exit through twin outlet pipes terminating in double-walled tips, each measuring 88.9 mm (3.5″) in outer diameter. The tips are slightly oval to suit the MX-5 rear bumper profile and are finished in polished stainless steel with etched Racing Beat logos. The system is tuned to produce a deep, throaty exhaust tone without harshness or rasp.

This dual exit back box must be used in conjunction with a Racing Beat mid pipe, available in either resonated Power Pulse or non-resonated Sport form depending on model year and sound preference. When configured as a complete system, it remains cat-back emissions compliant.

Warranty information

Warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship only. Warranty is for replacement of a similar product, repair of the original product or refund of the purchase value only and excludes all labour and incurred charges including towing, fitting, inconvenience, and purchases of other manufacturer's products. The warranty is good for the period stated in the additional info tab from the date of purchase. Mileage warranties are for road use only and proof of mileage is required. Products must be installed by an independent experienced professional mechanic and the suspected defect must be present at the outset. The warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, failure to comply with the maintenance requirements of the vehicle, processing or otherwise changing the product, ordinary wear and tear, or any other external influences. Warranties are invalid if the product is used for racing, rallying, drifting, track days or any other form of motorsport or competition. Please refer to the manufacturer's own warranty documentation for more information.

Making a warranty claim

Proof of purchase receipt showing the date of purchase, proof of mileage at installation, proof of current mileage and invoice of the work undertaken by an independent experienced professional mechanic must be supplied along with the returned products for a warranty claim to be considered. If your vehicle needs to be used whilst your warranty claim is considered replacement parts from the same manufacturer should be purchased through BOFI Racing. In the event of a successful warranty claim, we will refund the card that was originally used to purchase the replacement parts, in full or in part depending on the nature of the claim. BOFI Racing reserves the right to make full or partial compensation at its sole discretion depending on the condition and mileage use of the returned suspect parts. For example, if you have used the part for several thousand miles before a defect is noticed, only partial compensation may be offered.

Racing Beat is one of the biggest names in Mazda tuning, full stop. Established in 1971 in Anaheim, California – just a stone’s throw away from the Irvine design studio where the Miata was born – Racing Beat has been developing top-quality parts for the MX-5 since the very beginning. Its range has continually expanded over the years, covering everything from exhaust systems to suspension packages for the NA, NB, NC and ND.

Racing Beat has been pushing the limits of what’s possible for decades. Building on its experience with Mazda’s rotary models, the company began working on tuning parts for the NA Miata the instant it hit showrooms. These parts – including suspension upgrades, an induction kit, exhaust system and aero parts – were put to the test at a special tuned Miata ‘run-off’ held by MotorTrend Magazine in 1994. The results spoke for themselves: the Racing Beat car set a slalom record of 73.6 mph, a figure that no other tuner could match.

The company’s record-breaking streak didn’t end there. With the launch of the NB in 1999, Racing Beat developed a new range of parts and put them to the test at an event held by Sport Compact Car Magazine. The tuned NB broke the magazine’s slalom speed record (70.6 mph) and set a new skidpad record too, pulling an impressive 1.1g.

As if all that wasn’t enough, Racing Beat has connections to Mazda itself, too. The company has worked with Mazda USA on a variety of projects over the years, including a variety of SEMA showcars, the Mazdaspeed Protege and the mindblowing Furai concept (rest in peace).
